I have begin prepinating for the end times
What the fuck does prepinating mean? It means preparing but for some reason my brain decided to invent a new word for it.
Moving on… I have decided to turn my laptop into a mobile command center and information repository. I have dubbed it project mimisbrunnr, after the well Óðinn drank from to gain knowledge he was seeking. It will contain information, text books, knowledge of all sorts, even some “interesting” topics. It also has a Gitea server to host a code repository. It has local ai functionality, even to the point of exposing it as a service over a network!
Speaking of network, thats the other part of it. A mobile command and control center. I have WinTAK loaded up with data and plugings, as well as an OpenTAKServer and ZeroTier server in docker containers ready to be spun up and utilized at any time. I plan to buy an SDR to use as well with the setup to allow for over-the-air communication without internet access.
For extra security it is also equipped with VPN options and all drives are encrypted.
I’m not exactly sure what i’m prepping for or why, it just seems like an interesting thing to do and be able to have on standby. Something about being able to facilitate a drone pilot to operate remotely over radio communications whilst also being able to look up anything on wikipedia without internet access tickles my fancy.
I suppose I don’t need a reason necessarily. I could just do it for the tickling of my fancies. 🤔
